Frequently Asked Questions
What is Boonle?
Boonle is a platform that connects freelancers with those that need help completing projects. We call our freelancers “Students” and those that need help with projects “Clients.” To learn more, see how Boonle works.
How do I sign up?
Signing up is completely free and you can do so here.
What kind of work is done on Boonle?
Currently, all projects are design-focused. Specifically, in these categories:
As a student, how do I get paid?
You have the opportunity to receive monetary compensation each time you complete a project. Some projects will have a dollar amount attached to it and indicates how much the Client is willing to pay for that specific project. Projects that have a “FREE” ribbon attached to it do not guarantee payment. However, with ‘free’ projects, Clients are prompted with suggested tip amounts based on the project category. In any payment scenario, 70% of the total payment amount is added to your Boonle account (Boonle takes 30% which includes transaction and withdraw fees by PayPal). See an example.
I need a project completed, how much does it cost to post?
Posting a project is absolutely free!
How much should I pay for the work that I need done?
This is entirely up to you as Boonle operates on a pay-what-you-want model. However, higher payments tend to attract a greater response from Boonle Students. If you set an amount for a project and receive no response, try increasing the amount that you are willing to pay.
How are payments handled?
Payments are handled securely through PayPal.
What fee does Boonle charge?
Boonle takes 30% of the total amount paid per project. This fee covers our costs as well as any PayPal fees associated with using PayPal to handle transactions (PayPal fees include 2.9% +$0.30 per transaction plus 2% for withdrawing funds). As a student, you are not required to assume any fees outside of the 30% Boonle fee. See an example.
